The Secret to Longevity
Hello, Everyone. I’m a lad from Yorkshire, so I grew up on a proper strong cup of tea (Yorkshire tea of course). I still love a Yorkshire Tea and I always will, but a few years back I ended up living in rural China to learn the language and experience culture, it opened my eyes to a completely different side of things.
I’d spend my afternoons down by the river watching the locals. One day, whilst taking a stroll, there were these groups of elderly folk just sat there playing games and drinking green tea all day long. On my walk past them for the second time they had spotted me, and were curious to know where I was from being the only foreigner there. I chatted and watched them play board games, and they all had cigarettes in their mouths, which of course isn't healthy in the slightest. However in each of their hands were see-through glass flasks, absolutely rammed with tea leaves and just boiled water. I asked is this what you guys drink then throughout the day. I was curious to ask as during the trip so far, they were a few of the many thousands doing the same thing. They told me that tea is the secret to staying fit, and healthy and I honestly thought they were winding me up. That was until I walked past the local outdoor gym to find 90-year-olds doing Kung Fu - punching trees, gymnastics and literally bodybuilding every single morning. I’m talking about people nearly a century old with more energy than most lads half their age... and guess what?! They were drinking Tea.
I gained an interest from this day on for a cultural reason too, and that's when I decided to buy some for myself and actually visit some of the farms and tea ceremonies in the south of China. Drinking tea, not only Matcha but all kinds is a way of life that’s been working for them for centuries. I’ve spent the last couple of years finding the cleanest source possible from the Guizhou Region to bring back home and share to people around me and share the tea culture, and of course in my case, Matcha! I’m not trying to replace your morning cuppa, but if you want that same "90-year-old doing Kung Fu" kind of energy, this might just be how you are gonna get it.
